Average cost of UK retirement tops £400k

The average cost of retirement in the UK is £413,000, according to new research by Life Insurance Trust.
The company's 2008 Cost of Retirement report also shows that the average cost of an individual living alone is £326,700, but increased retirement costs could cause this to rise to over £700,000 for people who retire at the age of 65 and live to 100.
